Volunteer Hairdresser/Barber at Daisy Lodge

 What is the purpose of the role?

To provide hairdressing treatments to visiting families at Daisy Lodge.

Location

Daisy Lodge, 124a Bryansford Road, Newcastle, BT33 0PP

 Your commitment

We are looking for individuals who can volunteer on morning/afternoon/evening during the week and/or on Saturdays.

All volunteers in Daisy Lodge will go through our Volunteer Recruitment process:

* Application through our webpage

* Informal Interview

* Provide 2 references 

* Access NI check

* Attend induction with tour of Daisy Lodge

What does it involve?

As a volunteer you would have the opportunity to:

Meet with service users and discuss treatments.
Offer treatments and work to a high standard.
Prepare the room for treatment and tidy up.
Maintain necessary records.

What skills or experience do you need?

Minimum Level 2 qualification
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Be able to work with professional boundaries.
Offer a high standard of treatment and care to families.
Membership with a recognised body.

 What can I expect from the role?

Support from our Complimentary Therapy Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.
Relevant training
Branded uniform to identify you as a Cancer Fund for Children volunteer.
Lots of fun meeting new people and learning some skills along the way
Mileage costs to cover your travel.
A great deal of satisfaction from knowing you are helping families going through a cancer diagnosis.
