Executive Director – Quaker Service

Quaker Service is looking for a values-led Executive Director to guide our small, committed team in providing meaningful services across Northern Ireland. Based on Quaker principles of peace, equality, and social justice, our work supports individuals and families facing hardship from restorative justice to community support.
About the Role
As Executive Director, you will:
- Inspire and lead staff and volunteers to provide high-quality, user-informed services
- Collaborate with the Management Board to drive strategic and operational planning
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and financial sustainability
- Build strong relationships with funders and stakeholders and identify development opportunities that align with the charity's strategic goals.
- Advocate for the voice of service users and uphold the values of peace, equality, and integrity
- Represent the charity and promote the charity’s visibility through a range of media
Summary of Essential Criteria:
- A third level (Degree) or professional qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management role
- Proven knowledge of charity governance, compliance, and safeguarding
- Strong track record in income generation and budget management, particularly securing funding for a range of areas
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Commitment to the ethos and values of a Quaker organisation
- The ability to work flexible hours to fulfil the requirements of the role
- Having access to a car or the capacity to organise other travel plans.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in criminal justice, community development, or social enterprise
- Familiarity with Charity Commission reporting and asset management
- Experience of working with a voluntary board and managing a group of volunteers
