Location: Hybrid – Home working and Belfast office (minimum 2 days per week)
Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be working in partnership with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join their team. This role will appeal to candidates currently working in positions such as Programme Manager, Project Lead, Digital Project Manager, Sustainability Project Manager or Environmental Programme Manager, who are looking to manage high-impact environmental projects with a strong communications and stakeholder focus.
Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is an independent charity dedicated to connecting people with nature through education, community engagement and empowerment. Their work spans environmental programmes, leadership initiatives, digital innovation and sector-wide collaboration, all aimed at creating a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Northern Ireland.
About the Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing a range of Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful projects, initially including the 30 Under 30 Climate Change-Makers programme and the myEARTH digital platform.
This is a varied and dynamic role that combines project delivery, stakeholder engagement, budget management and communications. You will work closely with the Head of Communications (with a dotted line to the Head of Business Development), external partners, delivery organisations and funders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
A strong background in programme and budget management is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and build productive relationships across sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery and Programme Management
- Manage assigned projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time and within budget.
- Complete all project reporting requirements and ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Work closely with the Communications team to promote projects and maximise visibility and engagement.
- Support business development activity by working with the Head of Business Development to secure ongoing funding.
30 Under 30 Programme Management
- Lead the strategic planning and annual delivery of the 30 Under 30 Climate Change-Makers programme.
- Design and oversee programme content and delivery.
- Commission and manage external facilitators and delivery partners.
- Facilitate peer learning, collaboration and alumni engagement.
- Maintain strong relationships with funders, sponsors and partners, identifying new funding opportunities.
- Manage programme budgets, monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting.
myEARTH Platform Management
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance, performance and security of the myEARTH platform in partnership with the appointed IT team.
- Manage the myEARTH email inbox and platform administration.
- Drive user engagement by delivering the Communications and Engagement Plan alongside internal and external communications teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with delivery partners and stakeholders.
- Manage and approve platform content, supporting partners to develop high-quality resources and opportunities.
- Manage the project budget and ensure value for money.
- Support funding applications, sponsorship opportunities and long-term sustainability of the platform.
- Represent myEARTH and Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- At least two years’ experience managing projects end-to-end, delivering to time, budget and quality.
- At least one year’s experience building and managing stakeholder partnerships and engagement activity.
- Strong financial management experience, including budget tracking and funder reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and research to inform decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Professional project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile or similar).
- Experience working in communications, content or marketing roles.
- Experience managing digital platforms or websites.
- Experience delivering education or leadership programmes.
- Experience using data analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Knowledge of Northern Ireland’s environmental or NGO sector.
