MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB

To assist with the provision of a programme of care and support which gives tenants the opportunity to mature and develop to their full potential. The post holder must be committed to working within the Christian ethos of Willowbrook.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Willow Brook is a supported housing scheme for adults with a learning disability. It accommodates 9 tenants, 3 of whom reside in single bungalow units. The remaining 6 tenants reside in two larger buildings. Also at Topley Terrace there is accommodation for 3 adults with a physical disability.

Essential Criteria

1. QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

· Knowledge of learning disability and principles of care

2. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Essential

· Experience of working in a caring environment directly with an adult client group

5. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential

Committed to working with the client group
Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
Ability to provide spiritual support for tenants as required
Available for unsocial working hours (including sleep-in duties/week-end working) if required
