What does a Group Committee Member do?
This is a role that is all about connection, creativity and local leadership. This role will link with both MND Association staff and volunteers alike as One Strong Team to drive impact through our Group activities by supporting with planning, engagement and decision-making.
Specific tasks and activities include:
̶ Leadership – support generally with Group activities and processes - opportunity to specialise in a specific skill, such as engagement, fundraising, or partnerships
̶ Planning – engage with local volunteers and communities to plan for Group development
̶ Growth – in conjunction with staff, support with the recruitment, induction, development and recognition of volunteers, as well as with succession planning
̶ Awareness – act as an ambassador for the MND Association
̶ Policies – adhere to the MND Association’s policies and procedures, including Safeguarding
̶ Events – as this role may involve attending meetings and events, expenses such as travel are covered per our policies.
Time commitment is flexible and variable depending on individual capacity
This role is recruited through Safer Recruitment processes, which means the process includes a short interview and two references.
Successful applicants will complete a structured induction pathway, and will receive ongoing local support from their allocated Community Support Coordinator (‘CSC’).
