Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be working in partnership with Live Here Love Here, formerly Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, to recruit a dynamic and highly organised Climate Minds NI Project Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the rollout and delivery of Climate Minds NI, a new and innovative project designed to give underrepresented groups a meaningful voice in shaping climate action across Northern Ireland.
The project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and will be delivered through a partnership between Live Here Love Here, as lead partner, and Inspire Wellbeing.
This opportunity may particularly appeal to candidates currently working as a Climate Action Project Manager, Programme Manager, Community Engagement Project Manager, Partnerships Manager, Climate Justice Project Manager or Social Impact Project Manager.
About Climate Minds NI
Climate Minds NI will support communities across Northern Ireland to take positive environmental action while ensuring that people whose voices are often underrepresented are included in conversations about climate change.
The project will work with individuals experiencing mental ill health, intellectual disabilities and addiction, connecting them with climate action staff, volunteers and delivery partners.
Through 16 climate action groups operating across Northern Ireland’s 11 council areas, participants will be supported to co-design climate solutions, strengthen their mental wellbeing and contribute to greater climate justice for underrepresented communities.
About the Role
The Climate Minds NI Project Manager will be responsible for driving the project from its initial rollout through to delivery, evaluation and impact reporting.
Working as part of Live Here Love Here’s Community Engagement team, you will promote the project, recruit participants, coordinate workshops and seminars, and manage relationships with Inspire Wellbeing, the National Lottery Community Fund, the external evaluation partner and a range of specialist delivery organisations.
This is a varied and highly collaborative role combining project management, partnership development, community engagement, budget management and programme delivery. You will work across Northern Ireland and play a central role in ensuring the project is inclusive, well coordinated and capable of delivering meaningful long-term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Delivery
- Manage and implement the Climate Minds NI partnership project plan.
- Develop the policies, procedures and operational processes required to support effective project delivery.
- Coordinate the rollout of 16 climate action groups, with up to 20 participants in each group, across Northern Ireland’s 11 council areas.
- Support the design and delivery of workshops, seminars and participant engagement activities.
- Coordinate Field Officers and other Live Here Love Here staff supporting workshop delivery.
- Manage the budget allocated to each climate action group and oversee the project’s discretionary spending.
- Ensure the project is delivered to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the key point of contact between Live Here Love Here, Inspire Wellbeing and the National Lottery Community Fund.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with workshop facilitators, specialist delivery partners and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Inspire Wellbeing to promote the project and recruit participants from underrepresented groups.
- Deliver market and stakeholder engagement sessions with support from the Communications team.
- Support the appointment of the external project evaluator and maintain regular engagement throughout the project.
Communications and Events
- Work with the Communications team to promote Climate Minds NI and integrate the project with the myEARTH platform.
- Support accessible and inclusive communications designed to reach the project’s intended audiences.
- Manage the delivery of annual symposiums showcasing project achievements, sharing good practice and exploring the project’s key themes.
Monitoring, Governance and Reporting
- Manage the monitoring and reporting of the project’s activities, outcomes and wider impact.
- Liaise with the National Lottery Community Fund regarding reporting expectations and project delivery.
- Provide secretariat and reporting support to the project’s Governance and Oversight Committees.
- Work closely with the external evaluator to capture learning and demonstrate the project’s impact.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate at least three years’ relevant professional experience.
- At least two years’ project management or project coordination experience.
- At least one year’s experience delivering workshops.
- At least one year’s experience managing external partnerships.
- Developed ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using Excel.
- Full current driving licence with access to suitable transport.
Desirable
- A recognised project management qualification.
- Experience working within the voluntary or community sector.
- Experience working with underrepresented groups.
Knowledge and Understanding

- Knowledge of behaviour change approaches.
- Knowledge of environmental and climate-related issues.
