Our Volunteer Officers are trained and mentored to take on leadership roles in TCV’s programmes, often leading to rewarding careers in the environmental sector. A ‘Volunteer Officer’ is a volunteer who gives a specific amount of time to TCV (usually a minimum of 6 months) and whose role includes an element of leadership It’s a fantastic way to give your time, energy and passion to make a real difference to your community and the environment.
Roles can vary from practical conservation, environmental education or community development.
It is a voluntary role which comes with training to ensure that you as the VO can confidently and safely lead tasks and projects.
You will be given resources, management time, space to work, finance for expenses and materials.
Volunteer Officer roles often involve work with vulnerable people. This could be working with children or with adults at risk. As a result some VO’s will be considered to be in a ‘position of trust’ and may require a criminal record check at the basic or enhanced level.
