Location: Enniskillen office base, with travel to other locations as required (hybrid working policy in place)
Salary: £25,476 per annum pro rata (£14,557 for 20 hours per week)

The Role
Volunteer Now is seeking a proactive and community-focused Volunteering Support Officer to promote volunteering and provide a support service for volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations across the Fermanagh area.
This is a varied and rewarding role, focused on raising the profile of volunteering, supporting individuals to access meaningful opportunities, and helping organisations develop, promote and manage volunteer roles effectively. You will work with local community partners, networks, volunteers and organisations to strengthen volunteering infrastructure and support good practice across the area.
This role may also appeal to candidates who have worked as a volunteer co-ordinator, community development officer, community engagement officer, volunteer support officer, outreach officer, programme officer, or volunteering development officer.
Key Responsibilities
• Promote volunteering across the Fermanagh area through campaigns, events, social media and community engagement activities
• Provide an effective information service to individuals interested in volunteering
• Support organisations to register, develop and promote volunteering opportunities
• Help facilitate effective matching between volunteers and organisations using Be Collective and other Volunteer Now systems
• Raise awareness of volunteering good practice and support organisations to implement effective volunteer management approaches
• Signpost organisations to relevant Volunteer Now Enterprises Ltd services, including training and Investing in Volunteers quality standards
• Provide support to volunteer-involving organisations to ensure safe and effective practice, including training, Managing Volunteers Healthchecks and Access NI signatory support
• Support organisations to develop innovative ways of involving volunteers, including one-off volunteering opportunities and campaigns
• Build and maintain relationships with local community planning partners, organisations and networks
• Recruit, train, support and manage volunteers to support events, programmes and activities on behalf of Volunteer Now and partner organisations
• Contribute to effective teamwork within the Community Engagement Team and across the wider organisation
• Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation against agreed outcomes and performance indicators
• Identify opportunities for improvement and income generation across the organisation
About You
You will be passionate about volunteering and confident working with individuals, community organisations and local stakeholders. You will bring:
• A third-level qualification or at least 3 years’ experience in the last 5 years of encouraging volunteering, supporting volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations
• The ability to support promotional activities that increase the number of volunteers and diversity of volunteering opportunities
• The ability to work with organisations to develop and promote volunteer opportunities
• The ability to effectively recruit and support volunteers
• Confidence using and developing database and website information tools, including managing and reviewing content
• Strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills
• A full driving licence and/or access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the post effectively
