CHARITY STORE VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION
LOCATION AND HOURS: LURGAN – SHIFTS
REPORTS TO: STORE MANAGER

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The purpose of this role is to assist in the day to day running of the USPCA charity store to maximise sales and increase income for the charity.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
· To assist with serving customers, providing a good level of customer service.
· To assist with processing donated stock, including sorting, cleaning, pricing, and arranging of donated items.
· To assist with restocking shelves when needed.
· To assist with visual merchandising of the store and display items.
· To be involved with till operation and the handling of cash.
· To assist in daily tasks including cleaning, tidying, and hoovering of the retail area.
· To assist in keeping the store and storage areas clean and always organised.
· To assist in recording and processing of gift aid information.
· To be a good ambassador for the USPCA, supporting and endorsing the aims of the charity and promoting the good image of the charity when interacting with the public and fellow volunteers.
· To assist in ensuring all health and safety processes are followed.
· To manage all data in relation to the USPCA clients in accordance with data protection legislation and confidentiality.
· To participate in events arranged by the USPCA to support the charitable work of the USPCA.
· To undertake any other duties as and when necessary.
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:
· To be over 16 years of age.
· To have the ability to communicate with the public in a professional manner (Essential).
· To be reliable and trustworthy.
· To enjoy working as part of a team.
· To be able to work on routine tasks.
ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO:
· To adhere to the volunteer policy.
· To always work within the guidelines outlined in all other USPCA policies and procedures.
· Be smart in appearance and wear the uniform provided by the USPCA. Sensible shoes must be always worn.
· Maintain strict confidentiality.
· Participate in training deemed necessary by the USPCA and attend volunteer meetings.
