Job Title: Cook Manager

Location: Corkey House

Salary Scale: £13.03

Hours: 35 hours (30hrs week 1 & 40hrs week 2)

Responsible to: Head of Home

MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB

To plan and cook nutritional meals (including baking) to meet the needs of the residents, within the Christian ethos and aims of Corkey House.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Corkey House is one of 6 homes for older people run by the Council for Social Witness (Older People Services) and is situated at 1 Forthriver Crescent, Belfast BT13 3SR. The Home accommodates 35 residents who have a variety of physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs and varying levels of dependency.

The Home operates a No Smoking Policy.

CRITERIA

QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people;
Awareness of health and safety practices within a catering and residential environment.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Essential

Experience of catering outside a domestic setting

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential

Willingness to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the Home;
Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
