About the Role: As the Business Development Officer, you'll support business growth by identifying funding opportunities, managing applications, and developing strategic relationships. This role also provides essential administrative support to senior management, ensuring the smooth operation and effective governance of the charity.

Key Responsibilities:

Prospect Research: Conduct detailed research on grants and funding opportunities, preparing targeted reports.
Funding Applications: Prepare and submit comprehensive funding proposals in collaboration with senior management.
Strategic Support: Assist strategic planning by gathering insights and maintaining a pipeline of business development activities.
Executive Administration: Provide administrative support, diary management, minute-taking, and coordination for meetings involving the CEO, senior management, and the Board.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain high standards of internal and external communication and provide professional reception and administrative support.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential: At least one year of administrative/PA experience; successful income generation experience; strong relationship management and network-building skills.
Desirable: Experience in NGO fundraising or voluntary sector; proven track record of problem-solving.
Skills: Strong ICT skills (Microsoft 365 Suite); excellent communication skills (minimum Grade C in GCSE English Language or equivalent); numerical and analytical abilities (minimum Grade C in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent).
Licence: Full current driving licence and/ or access to suitable transport to enable you to carry out the duties and responsibilities.

Knowledge & Understanding:

Essential: Knowledge of administrative procedures and relevant legislation (e.g., data protection).
Desirable: Understanding of voluntary sector operations.

Personal Qualities:

Exceptional organisational skills, ability to prioritise effectively.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-focused approach.
Detail-oriented and committed to high standards.
Proactive with initiative, capable of independent work and teamwork.

Additional Working Requirements:

Occasional travel within Northern Ireland and flexibility to work beyond standard hours if required.

Hours of Business:

Flexible business hours between 8am – 6pm; core hours 10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday.
Hybrid working role (minimum 2 days/week in Belfast office).

Salary:

£25,347 per annum

Permanent (subject to funding)
