About the Role:
This is a fixed-term position until October 2025, working full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a mix of remote, office-based, and field-based work. You will deliver environmental programmes, workshops, and assessments, supporting communities and stakeholders in the Ards & North Down and Lisburn & Castlereagh council areas.
Salary: £24,424 per annum.
Due to the nature of the field-based work, it is highly desirable that you live close to and can commute to these areas. A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Travel expenses will be covered for any field-based travel required.
Job Purpose:
Field Officers play a vital role in delivering environmental programmes, education workshops, and assessments. Working closely with schools, communities, and stakeholders, you will facilitate environmental action, inspire behavioural change, and contribute to Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful’s mission to create sustainable lifestyles for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging workshops, events, and training sessions tailored to schools and communities.
- Conduct and report on environmental assessments and surveys, such as the Marine Litter Survey and Borough Cleanliness Survey.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and maximise engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop educational resources and workshops.
- Maintain accurate records of work for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Contribute to communications efforts, including social media content, newsletters, and campaign updates.
- Work flexibly, adhering to departmental timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.
Essential Criteria:
- Third-level qualification or three years’ relevant experience.
- One year’s experience in project or programme delivery, including workshops or training.
- Experience in data gathering and reporting.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to compile high-quality reports.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
Desirable Criteria:
- Practical conservation or biodiversity experience.
- Experience conducting environmental surveys.
