About Us
We provide specialist palliative care to enhance the lives of babies, children, and adults facing life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses, focusing on comfort and quality of life throughout their journey. From diagnosis through end-of-life care, we deliver holistic, life-affirming support to patients, families, and all those affected by a palliative diagnosis. Our two hospice units, Somerton House for adults and Horizon House for children—the only children's hospice in Northern Ireland—offer compassionate, multi-disciplinary care that embraces the entire family’s needs. Beyond our hospices, seven teams of Specialist Community Nurses work across Northern Ireland, collaborating with social workers, GPs, District Nurses, and pharmacies to develop personalised, patient-centred care plans. Our Hospice at Home service further extends support, providing one-on-one nursing care to give family members much-needed respite. Additionally, as the largest provider of hospice care in Northern Ireland, we offer bespoke educational programs and contribute to research with the All-Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care and the Palliative Care Research Network Northern Ireland, helping to advance specialist palliative care for children and adults across the region.
