Wycliffe Bible Translators

A world where everyone can know Jesus through the Bible

About us

Who we are

Wycliffe Bible Translators is a dynamic organisation with a big vision – a world where everyone can know Jesus through the Bible.

1 in 5 people worldwide still don’t have a Bible in their language. That’s 1.5 billion people who are still waiting. We serve local partners worldwide as they bring God’s word to their communities in the language which speaks to them best. Established in 1953, we continue to work urgently for the long-term. As a result, today more people than ever before have access to Scripture in their language.

Our culture and values

Our values:

  - We depend on God

  - We make Jesus known

 - We are Bible people

  - We honour the church

  - We innovate

We’ve made the switch to being a primarily home-working organisation, but with a strong emphasis on the importance of strong team relationships. The whole staff team meets on Zoom daily to pray, and gathers in person monthly. We make the most of the digital tools available to us to collaborate effectively and we take responsibility for our wellbeing and professional growth to better serve others for the long-term.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Wycliffe is a Christian organisation which seeks to operate in and for the name of Christ. We celebrate that all people are made in the image of God, we value diversity and believe that people from different backgrounds can offer fresh ideas, perspectives and skills.
