Volunteer with NIACRO

We are inviting expressions of interest from individuals who would like to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young person through volunteering.

Our Independent Visitors service is a volunteer-led befriending and support service for young people with care experience in the Belfast and South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust areas. The service supports young people who have infrequent or poor-quality contact with a parent or guardian, or who may be experiencing isolation or a significant transition in their lives.

Opportunities available

We are currently promoting volunteer opportunities within our Independent Visitors service.

As an Independent Visitor, you will provide befriending, continuity, support and encouragement to a child or young person over a period of up to one year.

This can be a particularly rewarding role for individuals who want to build a trusted, supportive relationship with a young person and make a lasting positive impact during an important stage in their life.

Important information

Each young person is matched with a volunteer for up to one year, with the possibility of extension following review.

This role may particularly suit individuals who are compassionate, reliable and able to offer steady support to young people who may have experienced difficult circumstances in their lives.
