At WOMEN’STEC, it is this community that we place at the core of everything we do. Our mission is to allow women the time and space to develop their confidence, their self-efficacy and their wellbeing so that they can take on new challenges, in their personal lives, their education and their careers. We are proud to be the largest training provider for women in these skills in Northern Ireland and we are even prouder to be at the core of our community of women.

Why you will love this role?

As an administrator/receptionist volunteer you will be the first face many of our students see as well as helping WOMEN’STEC run smoothly behind the scenes.

Some of what you will do?

Receptionist Duties

Greeting students and visitors to the building and welcoming them.
Answering the phone and passing the caller to the relevant member of staff.
Directing students to their classes.

Administrator duties

Typing up notes as required
Preparing/Cleaning up tea trolleys for classes
Room booking
Photocopying and printing

What training and support do you get?

We’ll give you a thorough induction to your role and to WOMEN’STEC.
You’ll have lots of training opportunities – including e-learning and face to face training.
You’ll have a great support network from your fellow volunteers and WOMEN’STEC staff.
We reimburse agreed expenses.
WOMEN’STEC has a clear complaints procedure and support to help sort out problems or disagreements.

What skills and attributes do you need?

Good listening and communication.
A friendly and welcoming manner.
An understanding of the issues some of our students may be facing.
Attention to detail
Knowing when to ask for help - the staff team are there to support you and help you in your role.
Willingness to learn. Learning as you go to keep your skills fresh.
